CricIntelligence does not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use the service. We collect the following data automatically:

• Usage data — pages visited, features used, time spent, match selections. This is collected in aggregate and is not linked to any individual identity.
• Device and browser information — browser type, operating system, screen size, and language preference. Used only to ensure the site displays correctly on your device.
• IP address — collected by our hosting and analytics services as part of standard web logging. We do not use IP addresses to identify individuals.
• Cookies and local storage — we store your match preferences and last-viewed match locally in your browser to improve your experience on return visits. This data never leaves your device.

2. How We Use Your Information

Data collected is used exclusively for:

• Improving the accuracy and performance of our prediction models
• Understanding which features are most useful to cricket fans
• Diagnosing technical errors and performance issues
• Measuring aggregate traffic to understand site growth

We do not use your data for advertising targeting, profiling, or any commercial purpose beyond operating and improving CricIntelligence.

3. Third-Party Services

CricIntelligence uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Google Analytics — we use Google Analytics to measure aggregate site traffic and user behaviour. Google may set cookies to track sessions. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google AdSense — we display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to serve personalised ads based on your browsing history. You can opt out via Google Ad Settings.
• Cricbuzz API — live cricket data is sourced from the Cricbuzz API. No personal user data is sent to Cricbuzz.
• Railway / Netlify — our backend and frontend are hosted on Railway and Netlify respectively. These services process server logs including IP addresses as part of standard hosting operations.
• OpenWeatherMap — weather data for venue conditions is fetched from OpenWeatherMap. No personal user data is shared with this service.

4. Cookies

We use the following types of cookies:

• Essential cookies — required for the site to function. These store your match selection and UI preferences locally.
• Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics to measure site usage in aggregate.
• Advertising cookies — set by Google AdSense to serve and measure advertisements.

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect site functionality (e.g. your match preferences may not be saved between visits).

5. Data Retention

Analytics data is retained for 26 months in accordance with Google Analytics default settings. Browser-stored preferences (local storage) persist until you clear your browser data. We do not maintain any server-side database of individual user activity.

6. Children's Privacy

CricIntelligence is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

• The right to access information we hold about you
• The right to request deletion of your data
• The right to opt out of analytics tracking
• The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

8. International Users

CricIntelligence is operated from the United Kingdom. If you access the site from outside the UK or EU, please be aware that your data may be processed in countries with different data protection laws. By using the service, you consent to this processing.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date at the top. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
